Adam Smith argues that through the division of labor, production and efficiency increase exponentially. Using his example of the pin-factory, explain in a short essay how he supports his claim that the “greatest improvement in the productive powers of labour, and the greater part of the skill, dexterity, and judgment with which it is anywhere directed, or applied, seem to have been the effects of the division of labour” (Wealth of Nations, 17). In your paper, include the three “circumstances” that lead to the great increase in quantity of work through the division of labor (21).
