Pidgins and Creoles

Your paper this week will synthesize your knowledge about pidgin and creole languages. Finish this week’s readings; in particular, read Chapter 11. Next, watch the videos, Black on White and Jamaican Creole Written Down in Dub Poetry.

Discuss the origins and features of pidgins and creoles. Cite specific references from the videos, this week’s textbook readings, and at least one peer-reviewed journal article, magazine, or newspaper from the Ashford University Library (dictionary and encyclopedia entries do not count as scholarly sources). Cite your sources in-text and on the reference page. For information regarding APA samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center, located within the Learning Resources tab on the left navigation toolbar.

The paper must be two to three pages in length
